Runna Treadmill: Peloton Tread + Garmin + Stryd → Strava
Three paths can post the same run to Strava. Make Garmin the single recorder, feed it Stryd for power, and cut the Peloton and Runna paths.
Diagnosis
You're getting duplicate runs in Strava because three things can each push the same workout there — Peloton, Runna, and Garmin. Make the Garmin watch the single recorder and source of truth, feed Stryd into it for pace/power, and turn off the Peloton and Runna paths to Strava.
Your setup at a glance
| Role | Assigned to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Workout guide | Runna | Owns the structured session. |
| Source of truth / recorder | Garmin watch | One clean recorded file for the run. |
| Sensor · pace & power | Stryd pod | Most accurate indoors — belt speed and wrist GPS aren't. |
| Display | Peloton Tread / Tread+ | Hardware only — not your record. |
| Destination | Strava | Fed from Garmin only. |
Data route
This is the fix: which connections to keep and which to switch off.
✅ Enable these
- Stryd pod → Garmin Connect (pace & power) — Accurate treadmill pace/power into your one file.
- Garmin Connect → Strava — Your single recorded run reaches Strava.
❌ Disable these
- Peloton → Strava — Re-posts the run Garmin already sent.
- Runna → Strava — Re-posts the run Garmin already sent.
During the workout
Do start
- ✓Start the Runna workout on your Garmin (Start → Run → Workouts), with Stryd paired as the pace/power source.
- ✓Use the Peloton screen to run the belt.
Don't start
- ✕Don't start a separate Peloton run recording.
- ✕Don't record in the Runna phone app and on the watch at the same time.
Step-by-step setup
Account links
- Connect Garmin Connect → Strava.
- In Peloton, turn OFF the Strava connection for runs.
- Disconnect Runna → Strava (Runna → Connected Apps & Devices → Strava → Disconnect).
Device settings
- Pair Stryd to your Garmin as the running pace/power pod (Garmin → Sensors → Add → Stryd; set pace & distance source = Stryd).
- Add the Stryd Zones data field so power records on the watch (needs Connect IQ).
- Disable NATIVE running power on the Garmin, or it can override Stryd power on Strava.
- Sync your Runna plan to the watch so the session appears under Workouts (Runna ↔ Garmin Connect).
During each workout
- On the watch, open the Runna workout under Workouts and start it there; run the belt from the Peloton screen.
Verify it worked
- After the run, confirm exactly ONE run in Strava, with power data, and no duplicate.
⚠️ Duplicate-risk warnings
Peloton and Garmin both reach Strava → the run appears twice.
Fix: Keep Garmin → Strava; turn off Peloton → Strava for runs.
Runna and Garmin both reach Strava → another duplicate.
Fix: Disconnect Runna → Strava (Garmin handles it).
What data to trust
- Trust Stryd podfor pace and power on the treadmill.
- Trust Garmin watchfor official distance and time (your single recorded file).
You'll know it worked when…
One run appears in Strava, Stryd power is present, and there's no duplicate.
Frequently asked questions
I get three duplicate runs in Strava from Peloton, Runna and Garmin — how do I fix it?
Make the Garmin watch the single recorder and source of truth. Keep Garmin → Strava, pair Stryd for pace/power, then turn off Peloton → Strava and disconnect Runna → Strava.
How do I get Stryd power to show on Strava instead of wrist power?
Pair Stryd as the footpod, add the Stryd Zones Connect IQ data field, and disable native running power on the Garmin so it doesn't override Stryd power for Strava.
What should I trust for treadmill pace and distance?
Trust Stryd for pace and power on the treadmill, and the Garmin file for official distance and time.
